Eastern Cape SAPS family honours memorial service of one of their own in East London #SAPSMemorial #FinalSalute SAPS Family in the Buffalo City Metro honoured a memorial service in respect of the late Sergeant Mzoxolo Gxotani who was attached to East London Tactical Response Team (TRT).
The
41-year-old Sergeant was reportedly shot to death by heartless criminals while he was performing his official duties around OR Tambo District .
After his basic training at All Saints SAPS Academy, he resumed his duties at Mount Road SAPS Community Service Centre (CSC).
Few years later, he joined Tactical Response Team (TRT) in East London.
He served with diligence until his shocking departure.
His different commanders described him as a hard-working, humble, committed and disciplined member of the service who worked tirelessly to squeeze space of criminals in this Province.
Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Major General Zithulele Dladla, who represented the Provincial
Commissioner, expressed the SAPS' sadness, and further indicated that a loss of one member is a hard blow to the South African Police Service.
The official funeral service in respect of Sergeant Mzoxolo Gxotani is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 31 October 2020 in Mdantsabe Township.
