Kwadakuza Festive season safety launch.
IPSS Medical Rescue and its partners are excited to announce that the first of two medical helicopters became operational this morning, with the second helicopter expected to become operational in the next week.
This exciting project is the result of months of planning in a joint operation between IPSS Medical Rescue, Black Eagle Aviation and several other private ambulance services namely Meditech Med-Evac Ambulance ER24 EMS (Pty) Ltd. Midlands EMS Rescue Care.
Both helicopters will be based at Virginia airport and will be crewed by Advanced life supports, intermediate life support and a trauma doctor when required.
We are fortunate to be able to conduct this pilot project for a period of 6 months, to determine the long-term feasibility of a permanent aviation resource.
The helicopter was unveiled this morning at the Kwadukuza Emergency Services launch, attended by the Deputy Mayor Councillor Dolly Govender, Kwadukuza Fire Department, SAPS, Kwadukuza Lifeguards, and the Kwadukuza traffic department.
