The community of Bishop say they feel less safe following the murder of top cop, Charl Kinnear.
Community members held a candle vigil outside his home last night.
Kinnear who was linked to the Anti-Gang Unit, was gunned down in front of his home in Bishop Lavis last Friday.
A
39-year-old suspect has been arrested and will be appearing in court today.
Deputy Chairperson of the local Community Police Forum, Amanda Davis paid tribute to Kinnear saying he was a role model crime
fighter: "It's very sad because now you start thinking if they couldn't protect him, what about you if you want to come forward, and they expect people to come forward if there's a crime.
Now, how can you come forward if a person like Charl Kinnear is shot in front of his house, who's going to come forward.
I just want to say to the youth of Bishop Lavis, just think of what Kinnear meant to you and live accordingly."
