Executive Mayor Dan Plato visited Brackenfell, Thembalihle Square and New Horizons in Pelican Park to distribute another portion of the 20 000 COVID-19 care packs.
Since the start of the national lockdown just over three months ago, the City of Cape Town has implemented a range
of awareness campaigns to assist residents with limiting the spread of the Coronavirus.
‘With residents out of work and not earning an income, the City of Cape Town is taking steps to assist vulnerabl e residents, protecting them against COVID-19.
The need for assistance has become more pronounced during COVID-19 and it is crucial that we step in to assist where we can.
We appeal to our residents to continue to practice extra caution, because with the gradual reopening of economic sectors, more people stand the chance of contracting COVID-19 without practicing social distancing, regular handwashing and wearing of a mask.
This continued messaging is reinforced by these care pack essentials.
With the assistance of our
ward councilors in 67 communities, we have identified residents in need,' said Executive Mayor Dan Plato #OneCityTogether "https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t15.13418-10/106504926_554562568551325_6475032381909047068_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&_nc_sid=f2c4d5&_nc_ohc=v-vy5BCxacgAX-yFd6D&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&oh=58a4cb8600b66afa6cb04e22fe3a3359&oe=5F288C53"
