An NPO that's been feeding hundreds of children in George in the Southern Cape during the lockdown, has had a break in at one of their premises in Thembalethu.
Last week, the SABC did a story on the plight of these children who have no choice but to break lockdown
regulations just to get a meal.
Life Community Services have several premises from where they feed children.
Since the lockdown, they've been feeding children from the homes of their staff members who live in the co mmunity.
NPO head, Maryna de Vries, says this is a serious setback for them.
"This has put us back because the doors have been ripped off and the windows are ripped out and the equipment is destroyed.
We going to have to restructure, rebuild that Centre.
They even broke holes in the wooden walls.
To me it's just sick.
When we go back we won't be able to open immediately.
It's going to take at least a week or 2 to fix things
up and up and running.
So what's going to happen to the children who come to that Centre everyday, the preschool in the morning and the big kids in the afternoon."
