Frustrated taxi operators in Cape Town are demanding that the Mayor Dan Plato and Western Cape Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa addresses them about exorbitant fines imposed on their vehicles.

Taxi operators allegedly took the firearm of an off duty police officer earlier.
A number of taxis have blockaded a section of Christiaan Barnard Road and the entrance to the taxi rank on the station deck.
All lanes of Christiaan Barnard road have been closed off, limiting access to the N1 and N2.
Police are monitoring the situation.
