Former Western Cape Police Commissioner, Arno Lamoer and three co-accused are set to be sentenced in the High Court in Cape Town today. Lamoer, truck company owner, Salim Dawjee, and police officers, Darius van der Ross and Colin Governder faced 109 charges of corruption, racketeering, and money laundering totalling one-point-six-million-rand.During sentencing procedures, the State placed on record that it will support a non-custodial sentence for Arno Lamoer and his co-accused. The agreement was that if they pleaded guilty, the State would propose a non-custodial sentence. Lamoer pleaded guilty to corruption charges in February this year. His co-accused, Salim Dawjee, was found guilty of fraud and corruption, Darius van der Ross and Colin Govender were found guilty of corruption. Govender's wife, Sharon, was acquitted on all charges.
