The SABC says the TV broadcast of the incorrect version of President Cyril Ramaphosa's speech last Thursday evening was a coordinated act of sabotage to bring the SABC and consequently the President into disrepute.

The public broadcaster says in a statement

that it has suspended three permanent employees and an unscheduled freelancer.

Ramaphosa spoke to South Africans about violence against women and attacks on foreign nationals.

Those suspended and unscheduled were given a chance to make representations regarding possible disciplinary processes.

The SABC says the second phase of the investigation into the incident is underway."https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/70944417_2614484028603965_2775482088005042176_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_oc=AQnL9N14PwxReSIg-M_CF8BumLSaiCEtJotwiY91Gk1UwqwR8J8cy0eetpjTgLikG3w&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&oh=2bd5dc5827568dd967c0f31f2c24c4f0&oe=5DFF36BA"
