The Robinson Pass that links Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape to Oudtshoorn, has been reopened to traffic. This follows ongoing fires in the Ruiterbos area. Fire authorities say block burns which took place last night were successful. Working on Fire spokesperson, Lauren Howard, says the main focus for today will be hot spot areas and mopping up operations: " In Albertina, the majority of the Eastern flank has been extinguished and mopping up operations are in progress. The Eden District Municipality, Cape Nature Teams and Working on Fire ground crew are fighting to contain the remaining fire lines which do not pose a threat to property at this stage. The extent of the fire has not yet been determined but the fire line has stretched from Riversdal through to Albertina."
