The City of Cape Town's Human Settlements Directorate handed over 18 Breaking New Ground opportunities to beneficiaries at its R33 million Eindhoven affordable housing project in Delft over two days, 4 and 5 November 2021.
Over the coming weeks, more beneficiaries will be moving into their homes.
This project consists
of 201 housing opportunities and will benefit over 600 of the metro's most vulnerable residents.
Mrs Berenice Pietersen and her husband Mr James Neer, were among the 18 beneficiaries to move into their brand new home, ahead of the festive season this year.
The family celebrated with many other beneficiaries when they received their keys during the official handover ceremonies.
‘We are grateful to be moving into our new home.
This is a dream come true and we look forward to spending many years in our home as a family,' said Mrs Pietersen.
The construction of the Eindhoven affordable housing project started in April 2021and once it is completed, it will provide 201 Breaking New Ground opportunities to residents.
Thus far, 75 homes were handed
over at the Eindhoven housing project, and the project will be completed in March next year, if all goes according to plan.
The City thanks the community and residents for their support as it continues to provide homes to beneficiaries across the city.
