The MyCiti N2 Express service for commuters from Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha remains suspended this morning, affecting thousand of commuters. The City of Cape Town suspended the service this weekend after the contract with the vehicle operating company which manages
the line, expired. Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Felicity Purchase, says the City has made an arrangement with the Golden Arrow bus company to offer an alternative bus service until a new contract is signed. She says MyCiti commuters can board Golden Arrow buses using their MyCiti cards: "There's an agreement at the moment that as of Saturday they did allow people with MyCiti tickets to get on the buses free of charge. That is something that they have
offered to do in order to alleviate the crisis. They show their MyCiti ticket and they will get a lift. So, if you have a MyCiti card and it's on a route where there isn't a bus today they will allow the person access."
