Eighty-One-Year Old Man Injured in M4 Smash

Just after 11 am, Crisis Medical was called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway of the M4 Ruth First Highway near the M41 fly-over bridge.

On arrival

paramedics found a single light motor vehicle had spun out smashing into a wall several times before coming to a rest, occupying the width of the roadway.

An eighty-one-year-old male driver and single occupant of the vehicle was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries and in a critical condition. Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was taken by ambulance to nearby Addington hospital for further care.

Traffic was severely affected and the necessary authorities

were in attendance.

The cause of the collision is unknown and will be investigated by local authorities.
