A feel-good show for hungry audiences and frustrated theatre makers is on stage in Cape Town at the moment to raise funds for the arts- and- entertainment industry that was brought to its knees amid the Coronavirus outbreak.
The music and dance production at Artscape, today and tomorrow, is titled "Dance-
Can- Dance, The Spirit of Enchantment".
The epic Afropop extravaganza is the brainchild of Elvis Sibeko and based on his album with the same title.
It was released last year at the height of the Covid-19 health crisis to inspire artists when they were not allowed to perform and theatres went dark.
The ambitious show is produced in collaboration with the respected Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Artscape.
It features local artists, established and talented young performers, in a spectacle that blends cinematic orchestral music and Afro Fusion dance styles.
The producers say a world of dance awaits patrons in a celebration of the healing power of music and dance.
