At approximately 05h20 this morning our Emergency Dispatch Centre received an alarm signal from a client in Clarendon Road, Park Hill.
We immediately dispatched our Armed Response Officers to the scene.
While inspecting the property our Armed Response noticed that the garage door had been forced
open and then noticed a suspect fleeing the property by jumping over the boundary wall.
Our officer immediately gave chase.
While our officer was in pursuit of the suspect the suspect dropped a bag containing stolen items such as a cellphone and tablet.
It was later established that the stolen items recovered was stolen from another clients premises on Clarendon Road, who at the time was not aware that they had been broken into.
Nothing was stolen at the premises where the suspect tried to force open the garage door.
Unfortunately after an intense search the suspect managed to evade arrest.
The recovered items were handed over to Greenwood Park Police station.
