The National Sea Rescue Institute has issued a warning to bathers and anglers to be cautious as the spring tide peaks between now and the New Year.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says their personnel attended to several incidents at beaches on Boxing Day
"Fishermen, coastline rock anglers and hikers
are urged to take heed in the increase in spring tides, as we move closer to this month's spring tide that peaks on the 30th of December.
We appeal for caution around the coastline.
We appealing to bathers to only swim at beaches protected by life guards and only swim in between the life guards safe swimming pole flags posted by the life guards on the beach.
