Ransom Demand For Kidnapped Woman: Hazelmere - KZN
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from the family of 21 year old Nombulelo Mngona (pictured) this afternoon (Friday) requesting assistance to locate her after she was allegedly kidnapped.
Her sister spoke to Reaction Officers and stated
that Mngona works at a supermarket on Moss Street in the Verulam CBD.
On Wednesday afternoon her family received messages from a Telkom number stating that they had kidnapped Mngona
and would release her if a ransom of R5000 was paid into a Shoprite Money Market account.
The messages were in isiZulu.
Her family initially thought it was a joke but grew concerned when Mngona did not return home after work.
Today they received a call from the same number.
Mngona was heard crying for help.
The call was then disconnected.
On the day Mngona disappeared she was attired in black pants, a yellow jacket and black & white takkies. Her cellphone has been switched off since Wednesday.
