Fifteen injured in morning taxi crash. Broadway, Durban North.
Fifteen commuters have been left with injuries ranging from minor to moderate after the minibus taxi they were traveling in suffered a blow out on the M4 Ruth First Highway this morning. Crisis Medical and Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 06:30, to find the injured clambering to safety as the twisted frame of a Toyota HiAce lay on its roof, occupying the left hand lane of the Durban bound carriageway, near the Swapo Road bridge.
The injured were triaged and treated on scene, before being taken by ambulances to various nearby medical facilities for further care.
Traffic was severely affected as emergency serviced worked to clear the scene.
The local authorities were on scene and will be investigating the incident further.
