Successful Resuscitation - Salmon Bay- NON bathing beach
A 7-year old boy got into difficulty whilst swimming at Salmon Bay beach, this afternoon.
It is believed that the boy went under the water for some time, before being rescued. It is reported that lifeguards from a neighboring beach, assisted by a local resident, performed the sea rescue.
An advanced life support resuscitation was initiated and continued for 45 minutes, at which point the boy regained a cardiac activity.
The young child was transported by IPSS Medical Rescue to hospital for further care. We hold the child in our thoughts at this stage.
Great job to all involved parties.
We would like thank KDM lifeguards, KDM trafic department and RTi for all your assistance. Great job to all involved parties.
